Scott is currently the Assistant Coach at the University of Maryland, College Park. Scott joined the Maryland coaching staff in 2014 and has helped guide the team to three consecutive Big Ten Tournament Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.

 

Prior to joining the Maryland coaching staff, Scott played five years for Maryland (1999-2003), the last three serving as team captain. During Scott’s collegiate career he led Maryland to the ACC Tournament title (2002) and two College Cup appearances. In his senior year, Scott was named NSCAA First Team All-American, and was selected to the All-ACC First Team and the ACC All-Tournament Team. Scott finished his collegiate career as Maryland’s third all-time leader in career assists.

 

After graduating from Maryland, Scott was selected in the first round (9th overall), by the Chicago Fire in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft. Over the course of his seven-year professional career, Scott also played for teams in the United Soccer League (USL) and the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). Scott also served as the academy director for the Baton Rouge Soccer Club after his professional playing career ended.

 

Since returning to Maryland in 2014, Scott has coached and mentored five players who have been selected in the MLS SuperDraft.
